The Cité internationale des Arts, a studio and residential complex in Paris run by a foundation, houses 270 artists' studios in a large building on the Seine and the adjacent buildings. In the 1990s, the VdDK*1844 acquired the right to occupy two studios, and manages another. Each year, 17 artists from the association can live and work in these studios for two months. In addition, the Van Rinsum Fellowship is awarded to a graduate of the art academy for a two-month residency.
Since 2025, the association has had the opportunity to exhibit works created in Paris in an exhibition at the Atelier am Eck.
The annual program of the VdDK*1844 is supported by the Art and Culture Foundation of the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf.
